ABOUT

Lake Mburo National Park covers an area of 260 sq km and is located 420kms south west of Kampala. It is one of the more popular parks, due to its relatively close location to Kampala, being particularly busy with city weekend visitors. The landscape consists mainly of savannah and the area contains four lakes. The open valleys on the western side of the game offer the best game viewing opportunities, with large herds of elephants and buffalo roaming the land. Other wildlife encountered include; leopard, hyena hippo and a large variety of antelope including the rare Impala. It is the perfect destination for ornithologists, a huge variety of birds are found within the park particularly round the lakes, including Bronze-tailed starling, Marabour stork, Crowned Crane and bee-eaters.

It's the one National park where you can do a walking safari. As well you can do a boat safari and game drives.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Pick up from Entebbe airport on arrival to lake mburo national park .Along the drive, you will first have a stopover at the Equator where you will stand between the North and South Pole for beautiful photographs and Equator experience. Continue with a drive and arrive in the afternoon. Have lunch and opt for either a village walk to experience the local Bahima pastoralists’ way of life or unwind and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight

Day 2: Game drive and Boat Cruise

This morning, you may opt for an early morning game drive and return for late breakfast or, have breakfast and set out for a game drive in search of the newly introduced giraffes. You will come up-close with Zebras, baboons, antelopes, Uganda kob, buffaloes and lots of birds of different species. Return to the lodge for lunch and go for an afternoon boat cruise on the park’s main lake – Mburo. The cruise will reward you with sights of different wildlife as they come to drink and soak in the lake to cool off! Hippos and big crocodiles are common sights too as well as lots of birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala /Entebbe

Have breakfast and enjoy another game drive on transit as you exit the park and transfer back to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel in Kampala or proceed to Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
