ABOUT

The park covers an area of almost 2,000 sq km and lies between the Rwenzori Mountains to the east and Lake Edward to the west., approx 470kms from Kampala. This parks wildlife once suffered from heavy poaching, but recent conservation efforts have restored much of the game and it now claims to be one of the best places on the continent to see high concentrations of hippo. Other animals found are elephant, buffalo, Ugandan kob, lions, leopards, variety of antelope, baboons and chimpanzees and the famous tree-climbing lion.

There are also over 500 different specifies of bird making it a excellent destination for ornithologists. A boat trip along the Kazinga channel between Lake George and Edward is a rewarding methods of game viewing.

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Pick up from Entebbe airport on arrival to lake mburo national park .Along the drive, you will first have a stopover at the Equator where you will stand between the North and South Pole for beautiful photographs and Equator experience. Continue with a drive and arrive in the afternoon. Have lunch and opt for either a village walk to experience the local Bahima pastoralists’ way of life or unwind and spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight

Day 2: Game drive and Boat Cruise

This morning, you may opt for an early morning game drive and return for late breakfast or, have breakfast and set out for a game drive in search of the newly introduced giraffes. You will come up-close with Zebras, baboons, antelopes, Uganda kob, buffaloes and lots of birds of different species. Return to the lodge for lunch and go for an afternoon boat cruise on the park’s main lake – Mburo. The cruise will reward you with sights of different wildlife as they come to drink and soak in the lake to cool off! Hippos and big crocodiles are common sights too as well as lots of birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala /Entebbe

Have breakfast and enjoy another game drive on transit as you exit the park and transfer back to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel in Kampala or proceed to Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
