Why Choose a Group Safari

A group safari is the same itinerary as a private one. Same route, same lodges, same guides — the difference is that the vehicle and the driver-guide are shared with a few other travellers, which is what brings the per-person price down.

We cap our departures at seven. That is not a marketing number: it is the point at which everyone still gets a window seat in a pop-up-roof 4×4, and the guide can still answer a question without a microphone. Larger groups are cheaper again and we will not run them, because the thing you came for stops working.

Some costs cannot be shared, and we are straight about which. A gorilla permit is issued to a named person against a passport, so it costs the same whether you travel alone or in a group of seven. Single rooms carry a supplement. Everything else — vehicle, guide, fuel, park transfers — genuinely splits.

Highlights

What Makes It Special

  • Capped at seven travellers, so everyone keeps a window seat
  • The vehicle, driver-guide and transfers are shared — that is where the saving comes from
  • The same lodges and the same routes as our private trips, at three price tiers
  • Good for solo travellers who would rather not carry a whole vehicle alone
  • Departures across Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, from three days to fourteen
  • Permits stay individual — yours is bought in your name before you travel

  • Solo travellers who want company and a lower per-person cost
  • Couples happy to share a vehicle to put the saving into better lodges
